The main part of the little book consists of some 100 photographs shot by the author at
Leonard Cohen's 1993 Berlin-concert. The photos posess the warmth and
indiscretion of a telelens 5th row approach, and are as original as
concert-portrait-photography goes. The author just made a passion for them
and found no alternative to making a book out of them, for better or for
worse.
Vlad Arghir also wrote a presentation, structured like loose notes for a
(not really planned) interview. The text is in Romanian, aimed at a public
with little or no access to the original material and is meant as a short
introduction to the life and work of Leonard Cohen. Besides some personal
comments, it contains what everybody knows. A short preface by a colleague
of Leonard Cohen - Mr. Mircea Florian, a singer, musician and multimedia
artist well-known in Romania, offers the view of the artist on stage on
being photographed.
The English translation on separate sheet available.
The Pont Publishing House "conflux"-series is a collection of books (more
or less) simultaneously published in several East-European languages. The
sales-proceedings go toward covering publication costs.
